In my last post, “Best 3 Simple Ways To Monetize Your Blog“, I mentioned that affiliate marketing is one of the simple methods to make money on your blog. It is also a way to make money even if you don’t have a blog. To recap, affiliate marketing is about showing the right audience the right products at the right time. You will need to join high commission affiliate programs in your quest to become successful in affiliate marketing.

Affiliate Programs vs. Affiliate Networks

Before diving into this topic, it’s important to define the difference between an affiliate program and an affiliate network. Both terms are often used interchangeably, but there’s a difference. An affiliate program is where you, the affiliate, earn a commission for a product you promote for the vendor.

An affiliate network is a marketplace of many vendors, whose affiliate programs you, as the affiliate, can join. So, an affiliate program may be standalone or part of an affiliate network.

This blog post contains links that take you to external sites. Some of these sites are products and services that I recommend, based on my experience with them. If you decide to purchase from them, I may earn a small commission, at no additional cost to you. Thank you in advance for your understanding. For more info, check out the Affiliate Disclosure.

So, What Are The Highest Paying Affiliate Programs?

In this post, I highlight three high commission affiliate networks that may be the best for new bloggers or entrepreneurs. Why are they the best? Because they have many products in many niches. Moreover, they don’t have any prerequisites to join them and they offer high commission rates.

My favorites are Shareasale, Amazon Associates and Clickbank, not in any particular order. Shareasale and Clickbank are affiliate networks, by definition. The Amazon Associates Program is an affiliate program. All three are built around affiliates as well as merchants. So, if you have a product you own that you want to market, you can sign up as a merchant to any or all of these programs or networks to help boost your sales through their marketplace. As an affiliate, you will have thousands of programs and products that you can join and promote respectively.

Shareasale

This is an affiliate network that has over 3,900 affiliate programs in 40 categories. The affiliate products to promote are quite extensive. It is quite easy to sign up to Shareasale. You will need to fill an application although you don’t need to have any traffic or any experience to do so. Because there are different affiliate programs within the Shareasale network, the commission structure can vary from one program to the next. Some programs have commissions of 2% whereas others have 20% – it all depends on the product prices and the program in question.

As the Shareasale network offers many programs, you will need to apply to each program separately. Getting approved to Shareasale is easy. When you apply to an individual program, I would recommend you to explain what your blog is about and how you plan on promoting the program’s products. If you do this well, and you write good content on your blog, you will have higher chances of getting approved. As a Shareasale affiliate, I have not been rejected from any program, although I hadn’t been blogging for long at the time of my application.

Amazon Associates Program

This is definitely the most popular affiliate program among bloggers, online marketers and entrepreneurs. This is because of the sheer volume of affiliate products you can promote. The real beauty of Amazon is the fact that you don’t have to “sell” anything. You just link whatever product you’re promoting using your affiliate link and let the Amazon site suck your prospect in.

When you click on an Amazon affiliate link, your computer stores a cookie that stays for up to 90 days. This means that if your prospect doesn’t buy the first time around, but finds another product on Amazon and buys it within 90 days, you will still get the commission. While Amazon pays you up to 10%, a typical shopping cart order is around $47, making it quite competitive compared to other programs / networks. This is why I’ve included Amazon as one of the high commission affiliate programs available.

There are limitations to Amazon Associates Program though. You must apply to the program in each of the countries that Amazon operates. So, if a prospect goes to Amazon.com and buys from there while you’re only registered for Amazon Associates in the UK, you will not get the commission. Also, when applying to Amazon Associates Program, you must have a website and some quality content.

Clickbank Affiliate Network

Clickbank is an affiliate network that has many products you can promote in various categories. What I really like about Clickbank is that, once you choose the product to promote, you will find supporting documentation and promotion creatives at your fingertips. They provide either a sales page or a video sales page with lots of up-sell products. They provide you your affiliate links, banners and email swipes. There’s even a tool you can use to encrypt your affiliate links.

Clickbank is known in the market for being one of the high commission affiliate networks available for new bloggers (and others). Commissions may reach up to 75% with a select few even reaching higher rates. The key to success here is to select the right product to promote for your niche. One of the most lucrative products are those that continually pay you on a monthly basis. Talk about passive income!

What I like about Clickbank is that you don’t need any experience or prerequisite to sign up. You register and you’re in. Once in, you can promote any of their products. They provide superior training for free and, as a paid subscription, you can join Clickbank University (you need to have an account with Clickbank to join their university / courses), which is one of the best training programs I’ve taken. Every once in a while, you can join their free webinars where you get to learn from top marketers strategies to become more successful online.

Which High Commission Affiliate Network / Program Is Right For You?

The good news is that you don’t need to choose just one program. You can join them all. When it comes to making money, you should diversify your income streams. As a new blogger or entrepreneur, however, my recommendation is to limit yourself to one or two programs (that’s already many affiliate products you can promote). You don’t want to overwhelm yourself when you’re just starting out.

In my opinion, this blog post highlighted the 3 highest paying affiliate programs and/or networks for beginners and advanced bloggers alike.
